Wilderness First Aid Course
May 17 & 18th
7am- 5pm
Do you spend time in the outdoors? Would you know what to do in an emergency when you're over an hour from medical care?
Wilderness First Aid is a two-day course that prepares you to identify and address medical issues that can arise in remote outdoor settings. With an ASHI Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course, first aid providers in a remote outdoor setting will be better prepared to respond when faced with limited resources, extended care settings, and decisions about when and how fast to evacuate an ill or injured person.
This course features multiple learning environments with both classroom time and hands-on outdoor scenarios. Students will learn techniques including soft tissue injury management, hypothermia management, proper splinting and immobilization, and long term patient care with minimal resources.
*A current CPR certification is required, which can be added to the course if needed.
This course is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, outdoor professionals, river guides, mountain bikers, camp counselors, girl scouts, boy scouts, and anyone involved in wilderness recreation where emergency response is more than 1 hour away.
This is a comprehensive 2 day, 16-hour course with both classroom time and hands-on outdoor scenarios.
Combined with CPR training, the course is 2 1/2 days and 20 hours of class time.
WFA Course Price- $225, $275 with CPR add-on
Upon completion, students will receive an ASHI Wilderness First Aid Certification card valid for 2 years.
